Goodnight, James.
I was going to ask if the similarity between today's issue and the Fantastic Four Annual #2 with Doom's origin were intentional or just coincidence, but really I just want to tell you how much I loved it.

Oh, deliberate and specific. As were the references to Byrne’s redepiction during his run — a couple lines are verbatim even. That and BOOKS OF DOOM were right at my side when working through this one. One of those things where, if you know that stuff, great, and if you don’t, hopefully you’ll be inspired to go and check out some of the F4’s amazing history.
In fact, IDW’S JOHN BYRNE/FF ARTIST’S EDITION comes out NEXT WEEK, if you’ve got a hundo and need a raft and love the F4 and want to check out some one of the book’s best runs.

Would you ever write for an episode of the Avengers cartoon? Or have you already done something similar?

I dunno, they’ve never asked. and i cowrote an episode of DA VINCI’S DEMONS (ep 206) and hope to write more. TV is fun. Movies are fun.
What is the actual release date for Hawkguy #11? I was looking forward to the dog issue, but when I went to my LCS on the date it was listed for on the official Marvel website, they siad there was no new Hawkeye that week.

I'm a huge fan of your writing, particularly Hawkguy, and had a question about being a comic book writer. I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago to work in TV/Movies, and though I'm on the right track to start a career in television, it hasn't always felt like a good fit. I recently started writing and creating my own comics and think I may have found what I want to do with my life. Does geographical location dictate your success with wanting to write for comics? I Want to leave LA.

i started in kansas city, so i’d say no, geography doesn’t dictate much at all. it’s good to get to conventions from time to time to meet editors but i think you can start anywhere.
that said? in my experience happiness/not-feeling-trapped-by-where-you-live is vital to writing, period. in my experience you can muddle through it but not for long and, fuck, it’s a heavy price to pay. if you’re unhappy — get out.
When and why did you start using Fraction as your credited name? Also, why did you use Fraction specifically, did you just like the sound of if?

i’ve answered this elsewhere but short version is when i first had published work the only attention i’d had in comics was as ‘matt fraction’ which was my user name on the old warren ellis forum. so it was marketing and now it’s just this silly thing.
and it came from a telemarketer mispronouncing my last name on a call.
