We’re big Gilda Radner fans in my house. That’s Gilda doing a Gilbert and Sullivan medley on THE MUPPET SHOW up there.
Gilda’s Club, a support network established by Gilda’s family and doctors after she passed that helps families fighting cancer, has changed it’s name (or seems to be trying to change it’s name, depending on your source, of which I cannot claim nor detect primacy) to “Cancer Support Community.”
This is a petition lobbying the organization to reverse its thinking there.
Why else name something after someone if not to remember them? To honor them?
If Gilda ever meant anything to you — made you laugh, made you happy, made you well up as your children try to sing “The Major-General’s Song” along with Gilda and a six-foot tall talking carrot — take a second and sign your name.
Thanks.
(I swear, more dick jokes and non sequiturs are coming)
