like a broken record i suppose
i got to call a very old friend of mine this morning, who unlike me, does not live leashed and tethered to the internet, and tell him that his friend and colalborator, jason molina, had died of organ failure caused by his alcoholism. I thought that’d be a shitty thing for him to find out a few days, a few weeks, down the line, third, or fourth, or fifth hand. and, uh, it sucked. For him, for me, for anybody ever touched by molina’s music, today sucks.
jason molina was 39 years old. his work as Magnolia Electric Co. and Songs: Ohia will live on for a very long time. the giant hole left by jason, to his family and friends, will never ever be filled.
if you think you need help, maybe go to a meeting. raise your hand. talk to somebody. and try not to drink today. it worked for me.
