WE(L)COME BACK #1 - “Help, I’m Alive”

Mali and Tessa have lived hundreds of different lives throughout time, caught up in an eternal cycle as they take part in a war so old that neither side remembers what they’re fighting for anymore. As Mali wakes up in her newest life, she suddenly becomes self-aware and starts to question everything, especially why she continues to fight. But elsewhere, Tessa is already on the hunt…

WE(L)COME BACK #1 is finally out today, after 3 years, an abandoned novel, a billion junked ideas and all manner of blood, sweat and tears — real and proverbial. After the super long road to get here, it’s finally a real, live comic.

You might’ve noticed it says 1 of 4 on the cover, and hopefully after reading #1, you’ll notice we want to do a lot more than 4. We have lots of stories to tell. About Mali and Tessa now, about their lives that came before, about other Sequels dancing this same dance of kill and be killed. What makes any of that possible is people adding WE(L)COME BACK to their pull lists, ordering our remaining 3 issues of this arc, spreading the word*, telling people you think might be into a book like this, or picking them up a copy. It all helps.

We hope you like it. If you have any questions, comments or whatever, send us a message.

*(for tagging purposes, we recommend using We(l)come Back with the parentheses to make it easier to find)

WE(L)COME BACK is Maybe the best first issue I’ve read since… Well, probably DEAD LETTERS #1. And Sawyer is gonna earn a place on the periodic table one day. He and zamudio have made a visual statement as crisp and clear and heavy as the book itself. DON’T BE DUM(B). GET YOU SOM(E).

Congrats fellas.
